Project description:
In this project I got to learn a lot about the prohibition and how it affected the people. I learned a lot about what people did to get around the laws of the time. People were dying and going blind because they wanted to take the risk of drinking alcohol.
Our murder mystery story was about a group of killers who had decided to not kill someone who they initially had a bounty for. They then find out that the guy has been killed anyway. This will attract a lot of unwanted “heat” from the authorities because of this they must find out who did it so they may be punished.
In the beginning we used a script and it mostly outlined the errors in out plot and helped us iron out the kinks. Then we switched to just a timeline and a list of things we have to menton.
I think that we did a good job on the second round. It's hard to say whether it was the audience or us that made the 1st round go poorly but I think that it was a mix of both. In the future we would probably have prompting questions for the audience so that they have somewhere to start.
In the end everything went well and I think our 2nd audience had a really fun time because there was a lot of interaction and our story works very well if the audience is interactive and engaged. I think that our set was good and so was our location, I wish it was a little darker but then th papers would have been too hard to read.
I think that writing a story in a group like this is very hard because there are a lot of ideas and it wont work if multiple people try to take charge. I think that usually in projects like these I try and take the lead and this was one project where I feel that I took a back seat and pretty much just did whatever Aidan asked me to do.
