In this project I worked with a lot of people some people I worked the closest with are Andrea and Sebastian because they were in my group. This was very nice because I enjoy working with both of these people. This is my first time working with Andrea and it was great, me and Andrea did very good work and Andrea really helped me stay on task and I think that because of this my work came out really well. I also worked a lot with Gus because me and him get along well and Gus knows I am fairly well versed in the makerspace tools and machinery and like helping people. I think that I could grow as a group member by staying on task because I will sometimes use the excuse of helping others to get away from my own work.
In humanities I learned a lot about communication from building the installation to communicating with our Sr. Citizen. This was important because when we were interviewing john it was hard to make the conversation flow until I started talking about me as well.
In Math/physics I learned about building circuits, electricity and welding. I really didn't like the idea of circuits before because I didn't understand them very well. After understanding and executing the process of creating circuits I realized it's not crazy hard and annoying but after all the lessons it started to make sense. I also learned to weld in this project because I wanted the frame for our installation to be made of metal.
For spanish we translated artist statements to english. When I translated mine to english I put into google translate and had a spanish speaker look over it and it after a few edits my artist statement was finished and translated to spanish.
Exhibition night went well, I was very proud of my work and my final product turned out good. I think that my group benefited from having me in it because of my engineering mind I think a lot of other groups also benefited from my help. If I have to give myself a grade it would be an A+ because this is the hardest I've worked in projects throughout my career at high tech. Andrea and I worked well together on this project and I also helped other groups. On exhibition night I explained my project to many other people. Many people were curious about the el wire we used. When it comes to written communication I think that my artist statement turned out well I think my strongest learning outcome was collaboration because I helped out a lot of groups and got my own work done in a timely manner. If I can choose a learning outcome to grow in it would be written communication because that is the time that I spent the least time on. In this project I think I've shown the most responsibility for my work worked the hardest on my work and showed empathy by helping others with things I show ease in. This is one of my favorite projects I've ever had at the high-tech. I'd like to add special thanks to Miss. Carol and Mr. Schwartz for this amazing project.
