At High Tech one of the massive advantages we have over other schools is that we get to do job shadowing multiple times during our High school experience this is good because I always hear about how people have their hearts set on certain careers and find out how much they hate them so they don't end up wasting some of the most important years of their lives on something they will end up hating. I went to Amatos High end auto and shadowed someone name David he is kind of like a manager there he has worked there for 6 years. David took me on a delivery and a pickup and showed me around the shop and introduced me to everyone. he tends to do a lot of managing and helping other people know what they should be doing. There are lots of jobs here such as detail guys, painters, technicians and secretaries. I think that learning about collaboration is very important because in a place like this everyone has to work together to get a car through the process of getting insurance approval to new parts to paint to detail and delivery. Another skill that is important is learning about tools and techniques in mikes class. What new insight did you gain about working in the professional world by shadowing your mentor? I learned that i have little intrest working as a technician at a place like this because of how brutal the days get to be doing the same thing over and over again and how there isn't really a place to advance in a setting like this. For these reason i would not like to work in an environment like this however I still want to work in design with vehicles. One thing I will remember for next year is to try and get a career day with someone involved in design. Rather than someone just involved in the industry.
